Hypixel SkyBlock: Vanilla Challenge [PART 1] (2024)

Hey it's extremepikagot again! Time for a challenge update!

Here's the rules if you didn't see them last time.
1. Only items that are from vanilla minecraft 1.8 without commands can go in my inventory. Skyblock Menu is an exception obviously.
2. Custom head items are not counted as vanilla minecraft 1.8 items.
3. The only enchants allowed are the ones from vanilla minecraft 1.8. This means Depth Strider is allowed but not Frost Walker.
4. The same thing for potions. Only effects that are normally gotten in potion form in vanilla minecraft 1.8 are allowed.
5. Enchants and potions can go to any tier and not just the ones in vanilla minecraft 1.8.
6. Items that do not follow the rules I have to get rid of and try to avoid.

Part 0 was simply getting to SkyBlock Level 3 by doing random things and getting the best base gear I can get in this challenge. Now we're in the zone and ready for everything. Well, sort of.

Day 1 ...still​

Part 0 was not the end of Day 1. Our progress on that day was decently significant, so let's recap what we did:

• I made a Cobblestone Generator for some reason
• Reforged a Leather Chestplate then sold it
• Mining V
• Diamond Armor (2/4 Protection IV and 2/4 Protection V)
• Diamond Sword (Sharpness V)

Unfortunately, the progress made on the rest of Day 1 was not saved with screenshots. Here's what I can gather from my further progress that day:

We unlocked Melon and Pumpkin Collections and got Farming VIII. Chocolate Factory was my new focus since that extremepikagot half didn't think about it existing. I got Rabbit Bro to Level 2 and Melon/Pumpkin Collections to tier 2 before leaving for the day.

Day 2​

We've earned a full 50 coins from Bank Interest! Woopie! Anyway, I've also decided to check on the Chocolate Factory. How is Bro doing with just a level 2 upgrade?

...He got past the 100k milestone on his own. He worked for so many hours on his own at 2 produced per second and single-handedly reached 6-digit production counts. True dedication, ladies and gentlemen.

Anyway, I claim my three milestone-based Chocolate Rabbits and upgrade my staff. Rabbit Bro gets promoted to level 20, Rabbit Cousin goes all the way to level 20, Rabbit Sis goes all the way to-- 14, we didn't have enough Chocolate in the Chocolate Factory to level her up to 15, and I leveled up Rabbit Bro further to level 24.

“I also claimed my one and only minion (Cobblestone Minion) and unlocked something called enchanted cobblestone. Yeah that's not cobblestone.” After a few minutes, I leveled up Rabbit Sis to 16 and Rabbit Bro to 27. About ten minutes later, I level Rabbit Sis up to 20 to unlock Rabbit Daddy and promote him up to level 7. That is all I did today.

Day 3​

We finally upgraded the Cobblestone Minion to Tier IV! This is the last tier of Minion we will produce on this profile. GG, one SkyBlock XP method maxed. (Unless we accidentally get a Snow Minion from gifts, but that's already a minefield of non-vanilla items for a chance of coins or EXP...)

With all of the Chocolate Factory progress, I was finally able to get everyone to level 20 (Employee)! I also claimed all of the Chocolate Factory milestones up to the 10M mark. We already hit 8 digits in our total production! Fantastic! Anyway, I ended up with a distribution of Rabbit Dog level 24, Rabbit Uncle level 27, Rabbit Granny level 31, Rabbit Daddy level 37, Rabbit Sis level 42, Rabbit Cousin level 50, and Rabbit Bro level 64.

Today, Hoppity's Hunt was active. We got some Chocolate Egg Rabbits on our profile that day. We also found some more Fairy Souls, which would help with raising our level (and stats) eventually. We promoted all of the workers even more, now everyone is level 40 or higher! The ore collecting goal is still broken at 2/2, but also Mayor Diana and (glitched) Minister Finnegan were elected!

I got Farming IX, Enchanting IX, and enchanted my Bow with Power V. Now I should do the Target Practice!

Target Practice I, done first try. No problem. Target Practice II, done first try. Yeah, not too bad. Target Practice III, ...oh never mind this is living he-

Anyway, Target Practice III was a bit rough. I failed the first time while so close, then failed the second time while also close and got a hint in chat.

What's a "shortbow"? Sounds extremely cursed and not at all a vanilla Minecraft item from 1.8. Anyway, we gave up for now, and went off to the Mountains to explore for Fairy Souls. My new goal is to get SkyBlock Level 7 to use Bazaar. Once we do that, I can get as many Ender Pearls as I'd like! Free mobility items for us to use!

I farm some more Wheat in the Hub to get Feather Falling V onto my Diamond Boots. By the way, not sure if I mentioned this yet, but I made an Enchantment Table and surrounded it with some Bookshelves. Now I can get basically any vanilla enchants I want, if I have enough EXP to enchant them.

Day 5​

(I didn't play on the Cucumber profile on Day 4.)
Our Bank Interest is so much higher now! A full 103 coins! Anyway, we sold the Cobblestone Minion IV's output and Rotten Flesh we got from grinding Zombie kills to get more Experience Bottles (AKA renamed Bottle o' Enchanting items).

The Chocolate Factory got all the way up to the 250M chocolate milestone! We're finally ready to unlock Prestige II of the Chocolate Factory! The first thing we do after increasing our prestige is upgrade Rabbit Bro to level 1 (from the Chocolate Rabbits earned from milestones/Hoppity's hunt) and enable the Time Tower's charge.

We enchanted our Diamond Boots with Depth Strider and our Golden Axe with Silk Touch, and went off to get some missing collections! We got Cocoa Beans unlocked and did quite a bit of farming Red and Brown Mushroom Blocks (which are obtainable in vanilla Minecraft 1.8). We sold the Mushroom Blocks, went back to the Hub, and explored the Hub for more Fairy Souls.

We found the Wizard Portal, but there wasn't much to see then. Elise was rude, a dragon sounded like she already HAD too much coffee, someone mentioned a guy going missing, and the Wizard called me a noob for not being SkyBlock Level 12 or higher. By the time we found Tia the

Fairy, we already had over 35 Fairy Souls. Free SkyBlock EXP! I also found an unused space that's not very High Level, and got the Hub Explorer quest done.

I decided that, now that we've reached SkyBlock Level 3, we should at the very least start progress towards the Community Profile Upgrades. Allowance I Perk is now in progress.

We then departed off to Spider's Den for the first time. We killed a spider, found some Fairy Souls, met a random guy that I didn't talk to, reached SkyBlock Level 5 from Bone Collection, --wait, Garden is unlocked now! Cool! ...is it really as cool as it sounds, though?

We talk to the Stranger whose name turns out to be Sam. She compliments us on our Farming skill being level 9 already, then asks for help on her own farm. Sure, I can help her! What could possibly happen that would make this moment dreadful?

Yeah, I saw this coming. extremepikagot probably didn't. In order to progress to the part where you are forced to pick up a custom player head item to unlock a plot, we must first buy a custom non-vanilla dye item to get that custom player head item to start existing. This means we're locked out of completing this tutorial for unlocking a farm Plot. We're not getting much of anywhere with this, are we?

At this point, we seemed kind of stuck. There's not much to do in other places, Dwarven Mines (if we somehow get Mining 12) is off-limits due to needing some foreign "enchanted" ore items, and the Garden we just unlocked is blocking us off from the main appeal! What can we even do to get some progress around here? Can we even get any more progress in the Garden?

Well, luckily, the answer is yes. We have a plot already unlocked! The Barn's plot! It even already has progress towards a small farm! ...Although, there's still an issue. We're still Garden Level 1.

That means we're locked to only wheat in our Garden. We'll have to rely on that being our main active money-making method... right?

Anyway, this will be continued in Part 2. You're now all caught up on our profile. We're still SkyBlock Level 5 now with Farming X, Combat VI, Coin Allowance I claimed, Coin Allowance II in progress, and a plan hatched to get more progress in the Garden.

End Note (IMPORTANT)​

One final thing: I'm making a poll with a few questions for the future of this challenge.

• Infinity (infinite arrows) is replaced with Infinite Quiver (chance to conserve arrows). Is this enchantment allowed?
• Vanilla gear feels cursed when it's reforged, but it's still a vanilla item after reforging it. Should this count as an allowed item?
