Surfus, Mary L. Mary Lou Surfus, 77 years, Sturgeon Bay, died Sunday afternoon at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born on March 19, 1933, to Lewis and Hazel Kasbohm. In 1951, Mary graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School. She worked at PBI until her retirement.

Mary donated her time generously at Clothe My People. She enjoyed thrifting and garage sales. Survivors include six children, Ann (Marv) Langohr, Baileys Harbor; Paul (Joanne), Tom (Chris), Louie (Sheri), Sturgeon Bay; Lisa (Willie) Zaborowske, Denmark; Susie (Larry) Choskey, Lilburn, 11 grandchildren; one brother, Jim Kasbohm, Louisiana; four sisters, Grace (Bud) Schubert, Rita Thompson, Liz Uecker, Sturgeon Bay; Bunny Rusch, Green Bay; special friend, Chester Thiede, Two Rivers; two sisters-in-law, Lou Kasbohm, Beloit; and Mary Kasbohm, Green Bay. She was borr April 22, 1920, in Brussels, to Frank and Louise (Bournoville) Zephirin.

As a young lady she helped her parents as a caregiver for many years. Bertha was always there for anyone who needed care and help in any way. Bertha married Harold Wautlet in Brussels, on May 30, 1939. The couple moved to Green Bay, where they lived for a short time. Then they moved back to Brussels, where they farmed for a few years.

After the farm they operated the County Line Tavern on the county line of Door and Kewaunee for a couple of years. In 1956, they moved to Algoma where they lived up until the present. For 22 years they spent their winters in Brownsville, Texas with their son Allen. Bertha enjoyed spending her precious time with her children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and now her great-great-grandchildren. She was a member at are broadcast continuously FM band.

Pat was humble when praised for her generosity and donated to anyone in need from numerous charities to the various needs of others.

Pat loved being a homemaker. She also worked for Wisconsin Bell, the School District as a "lunch Ben Franklin Crafts, EDS and finished her work career as a devoted employee of Associated Bank. She took pride in her work and rarely took credit for all of her jobs well done. Pat enjoyed spending time traveling to visit her family and documented those travels with photographs and projects. She took pride in constantly updating her family.

For her family and friends, young and old, she spent countless hours working on unique and personal gifts for them from the variety of crafts she enjoyed. She was an excellent seamstress whose talents spanned from a simple hem to entire costumes and outfits. Her green thumb knew no boundaries as she enjoyed gardening year round. Pat was dearly loved and cherished by all of her children and grandchildren for the unique memories and special attention she gave to each and every one of them.
